On Saturday 11th June 2016 TEDxBrum threw its doors open to the people of Birmingham once more and HTF media were there in force to live stream the talks and performances.
This year’s event was the largest by far, taking place at Birmingham Town Hall with more than twenty speakers and performers playing to an audience of 800 in the venue and over 2000 watching on the live stream. When we chose to sponsor the event we knew there’d be a lot to capture so we expanded our team and got down to work.
We broadcasted the whole day via Livestream, ensuring that every talk was uninterrupted for those watching online. But we didn’t stop there – we recorded and edited all content, to produce videos that the TEDxBrum team could be proud of and that would surpass TED’S stringent quality controls in terms of both editorial and technical requirements.
We brought together a team of eight specialists to broadcast TEDxBrum including camera operators, vision mixers and runners to ensure that everything ran beautifully
The day was both technically and logistically challenging, with over 400metres of cabling to run, a complicated tech setup and only four hours pre event for load-in, set up and testing – pre-planning was key.
A great day. Long, tiring, but altogether inspiring. The Power of Us indeed!
You can watch one of our favourite talks from the day above or head on over to TED talks and search for TEDxBrum to see them all.
