After a period of intensive research and some tasty pitch writing we were successful in winning a pitch to make three short online videos for eBay
The key to winning the pitch was to find a story that would resonate with the public and encourage people to sell their wares on eBay UK. Once we had found Spice Kitchen UK via this story we were convinced that we were onto a winner.
The three films tell the story of Sanjay and Shashi Aggarwaal of Spice Kitchen UK and how Shashi’s spice tins now sell by the lorryload after Sanjay put one of his mums sets on eBay over Christmas 2012 to see what would happen. His retired mum was looking for a hobby to fill some of her spare time. Little did they know that they would soon be inundated with orders and now turnover 25k per year from eBay sales alone.
We were commissioned to make three videos for online use, one 90 second film for use on Facebook and two cutdown versions – a 30 second version for Twitter and a 15 second version for Instagram.
These films were all supplied with subtitle files so that even if you don’t want to interrupt your music but watch the film on the move you can still follow the story.
We think these films are a perfect example of how stories can leverage an audience via social media. Finally, we should also probably mention that from finding out we won the brief we turned the whole thing round in two weeks!
